Welcome to Soul Journey Matters

Healing begins here. Growth follows. Peace is possible.

At Soul Journey Matters,

We provide compassionate, culturally sensitive counseling and mental health services to individuals and families navigating trauma, substance use, emotional challenges, and the complex systems around them. Whether you're a parent trying to break generational cycles or a child learning how to feel safe in the world again—your journey is valid, and you don’t have to walk it alone.

We believe in the power of change, no matter your starting point.

How We Can Help You

We offer a safe, supportive space where healing and growth are nurtured with care. Our services are trauma-informed, client-centered, and tailored to meet you exactly where you are. Whether you're seeking guidance for yourself, your child, or your entire family, we’re here to walk alongside you with tools, compassion, and expertise.

Individual Therapy

Your story matters. Individual therapy provides a confidential space to process your experiences, explore your emotions, and build strategies for healing. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, or life transitions—we're here to help you reconnect with your strength and your sense of self.

Family Therapy

Family dynamics can be complicated, especially when trauma, substance use, or system involvement is present. Family therapy creates a supportive environment where each member is heard, boundaries are rebuilt, and communication is restored. Together, we work to strengthen your foundation as a unit.

Individual Parenting Classes

Parenting doesn’t come with a manual—but it can come with support. These one-on-one sessions are customized to your unique parenting challenges, whether you're navigating court-ordered requirements or simply want to show up more effectively for your child.

Group Parenting Classes

There’s power in shared experiences. Our group parenting sessions offer practical tools, emotional support, and a space to learn alongside other caregivers facing similar challenges. You'll walk away with new techniques and a deeper sense of community.

Court Ordered Counseling

We understand that court-mandated services can feel overwhelming. At Soul Journey Matters, we aim to make this process more approachable and transformative. We provide non-judgmental, evidence-based counseling designed to meet legal requirements and support personal growth along the way.

Registered Intern Supervision

We’re passionate about growing the next generation of therapists. Clinical supervision is offered for Registered Mental Health Counseling Interns looking for guidance, mentorship, and support as they pursue licensure in Florida. You’ll find a nurturing space that emphasizes growth, ethical practice, and client-centered care.

Who We Serve

At Soul Journey Matters, we honor the unique stories behind every person and family we support. No matter where you come from or what you've been through, you deserve to feel safe, heard, and empowered to move forward.

We walk alongside:

Children starting at age 5

We help young children process big feelings and experiences—especially those shaped by trauma, loss, or instability. Through age-appropriate, therapeutic techniques, we create a space where kids can explore their emotions, build resilience, and feel safe again.

Adults

Many adults carry unspoken pain from childhood, past relationships, or life-altering events. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, or simply feeling overwhelmed—we help you rediscover your strength, rewrite limiting narratives, and develop tools for lasting change.

Families Impacted by Systems

We provide trauma-informed care for families affected by:

  • The Child Welfare System

  • Substance Use Recovery

  • The Criminal Justice System

Navigating these systems can feel isolating and overwhelming. We're here to help families heal together, rebuild trust, and restore hope—one step at a time.

We offer support for a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges, including:

Childhood Trauma & PTSD – gently working through past harm to foster safety and emotional regulation | Depression & Anxiety – helping you feel more grounded, balanced, and connected | Grief & Loss – navigating sorrow and finding peace without rushing the process | ADHD & Oppositional Defiant Disorder – building routines, skills, and understanding for both children and families | Bipolar Disorder – finding steadiness through cycles, with compassion and clarity.

Everyone’s journey looks different. Let’s talk about yours.

Meet Samantha J. Mangino, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Advocate, Trauma Informed Therapist

I’m Samantha Mangino, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the heart behind Soul Journey Matters. I created this practice to serve individuals and families who often feel overlooked, overwhelmed, or stuck in survival mode—especially those impacted by trauma, system involvement, and generational cycles.

My approach is grounded in compassion, cultural sensitivity, and a belief that healing is always possible—with the right support. I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Focused practices to help clients move through pain, discover their inner resilience, and create meaningful change.

With years of experience in both clinical and community-based settings, I’ve walked alongside children as young as five, adults navigating their mental health, and families facing tough challenges—like child welfare cases, recovery from substance use, and the effects of incarceration.

What drives me? Seeing people come back to themselves. Watching a client recognize their own strength. Helping families reconnect. Holding space where healing feels safe and possible.

You are not your diagnosis. You are not your past. You are a whole person, and your soul’s journey matters deeply to me.
