About SJM

Because your healing journey is sacred, and you don’t have to walk it alone.

Soul Journey Matters was founded on the belief that everyone deserves a safe, supportive space to heal. We provide trauma-informed counseling for individuals and families—especially those affected by child welfare, substance use, or the criminal justice system.

Whether you're processing trauma, rebuilding relationships, or starting your mental health journey, we're here with evidence-based care and deep compassion. Using approaches like CBT, Trauma-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, we tailor each session to meet you where you are—and help guide you to where you want to be.

What Sets Us Apart?

  • We work with children as young as five, as well as teens and adults, with a deep understanding of how trauma impacts development and connection.

  • We specialize in helping families who are navigating complex systems—whether you’re involved in court-ordered services, working through reunification, or simply seeking a better way forward.

  • We hold space for grief, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, depression, PTSD, and the layers of life that are hard to put into words.

Above all, we see your humanity first. Your story matters. Your peace matters. Your soul journey matters.

Meet Samantha J. Mangino, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Advocate, Trauma Informed Therapist

I’m Samantha Mangino, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the heart behind Soul Journey Matters. I created this practice to serve individuals and families who often feel overlooked, overwhelmed, or stuck in survival mode—especially those impacted by trauma, system involvement, and generational cycles.

My approach is grounded in compassion, cultural sensitivity, and a belief that healing is always possible—with the right support. I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Focused practices to help clients move through pain, discover their inner resilience, and create meaningful change.

With years of experience in both clinical and community-based settings, I’ve walked alongside children as young as five, adults navigating their mental health, and families facing tough challenges—like child welfare cases, recovery from substance use, and the effects of incarceration.

What drives me? Seeing people come back to themselves. Watching a client recognize their own strength. Helping families reconnect. Holding space where healing feels safe and possible.

You are not your diagnosis. You are not your past. You are a whole person, and your soul’s journey matters deeply to me.
